Assignment Topic: Human behavior is one of the most important factors organizations have to deal with in order to grow. Leaders and HR professional need to develop their understanding of human behavior and be able to retain and motivate their people to achieve high-performance levels. In this assignment you will analyze the importance of organizational structure and culture and their effect on employees’ behavior and organizational effectiveness. You also need to incorporate in your discussion the role of the socially responsible organization, and ethical practice.
Assignment Rationale: You are expected to demonstrate your own creativity and critical thinking and analysis based on strong argumentation that blends theory and practice. This is an academic piece of work. Therefore, every claim you make needs to be justified and supported by academic and professional references: you should use minimum 15 academic and professional sources (books, articles, blogs, etc.) from the last three years.
Assignment Structure/Guidelines:
1. Title Page.
2. Table of Contents.
3. Introduction: Present topic and objectives of assignment, background theoretical information to the support of the topic, and structure of assignment.
4. Organizational Structure: Use a local case to analyze issues such as centralization and decentralization, span of control and chain of command, work specialization, formalization, etc. and how each structure may affect employees’ behavior and performance. Consider the effect of organizational designs, such as virtual and leaner organizations, with a specific focus on the mechanistic and organic models. Critically evaluate each organizational structure, the contextual factors in each approach and their respective effectiveness, as well as how management should decide about the model to follow.
5. Organizational Culture: Use the same case to analyze how organizational culture influences organization’s members’ behaviors. Analyze specifically issues like organization fit, ethical organizational culture, diversity, and inclusion.
6. Conclusion: Remind topic and objectives of assignment, present a summary of your proposal, justified recommendations, and report on lessons learnt.

8. Appendices (optional): Here you can include any tables / graphs / data / information that you feel is relevant to the research paper, yet not essential to the discussion.
