In your essay, you will present an original analysis of a media event\/work of your choosing while focusing on the themes studied in class <\/span>(such as representations of identity, race, class, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, participatory culture, and other themes) and their relationship to the wider media context.<\/p>\n

Your essay should provide<\/u> an original analysis of ONE of the following<\/u><\/span>;<\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 the media representation of a specific event or movement<\/p>\n

\u2022 a specific media work (i.e. a film, video game, television show, music video, podcast, etc.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 a subcultural movement<\/p>\n

\u2022 a specific aspect of the media<\/p>\n

Your essay should be <\/u>structured<\/u><\/span> around the following: <\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 An introductory section, identifying the main subject of your analysis and providing crucial information about it, as well as a brief summary of what your argument will be (recommended length 300 words). <\/p>\n
