Choose any country of the world. It would be better to
\nchoose one that you are interested in.<\/p>\n
The assignment requires you to analyse the security
\ndevelopments since the end of the Cold (or 9 \/11). However, Andrew and
\nI intend to be quite flexible in allowing you to choose a shorter
\nduration of time since 1989. If you think that your Report would benefit from
\nlooking at a particular period since the end of the Cold War \u2013 then just
\nbriefly justify that choice in your introduction.<\/p>\n
Remember that the Report is a short 2000 words
\n(excluding References and the Bibliography). Therefore, identify 4-5 key
\nsecurity developments and analyse those under separate headings.<\/p>\n
Keep in mind that \u201csecurity\u201d as a concept is broad and
\ncontestable and therefore try not to restrict your analysis merely to
\nnarrow military concerns. It might be an idea to include in your account some
\nbroader issues such as human rights, the position of women in that society, the
\nimpact on economic or human security and so on. Feel free to identify what
\nyou think is important \u2013 keeping in mind the word length and be led by
\nevidence and research.<\/p>\n

Structure of Report \u2013 Consider the following:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Introduction \u2013 outline objectives, the state, region,
\nintroduce the reader to the time period and account for the security issues you
\nintend to identify and why.<\/p>\n
Main Body: analyse the security developments under 4-5
\nseparate headings. This is just a suggestion \u2013 you may wish not to use
\nheadings. Provide evidence in the form of accurate references to all claims,
\nfacts, figures and opinions taken from elsewhere. Do not make unsubstantiated
\nclaims. <\/p>\n
Conclusion: provide a summary of the findings and account
\nfor how the state \/ region has coped, dealt with or otherwise actively harmed
\nits security. Again this will all depend on your findings.<\/p>\n
References: Ensure that wherever you make a claim, construct
\nan argument, provide a fact or figure and or otherwise take ideas and quotes
\nfrom elsewhere, YOU MUST provide a reference.<\/p>\n
BIBLIOGRAPHY. DO NOT forget to include this at the end of
\nthe Report. Place the research items in alphabetical order, be accurate, and
\nprovide full bibliographic details of the items used.<\/p>\n
