After watching Module 2, Video 2: Writing an Effective Narrative and Module 2, Video 3: Thesis Statements and Introductions, develop a draft introduction paragraph and a draft of a body paragraph that describes an anecdote about the person you are writing your Narrative Essay on. This introduction and body paragraph will, ideally, go into your Narrative Essay about a significant person in your life. <\/p>\n

The introduction should be at least 5 sentences long.\n<\/div>\n
The body paragraph containing the anecdote should also be at least 5 sentences long (it probably should be more!). Make sure you include vivid detail and narrating strategies – covered in Module 2, Video 2 – in your anecdote!\n<\/div>\n
You can type your introduction and body paragraph directly into the text box of this discussion board, or you can type it on a Word document and then submit the document as an attachment to your post. Also, please clearly your paragraphs as “Introduction” and “Anecdote” so your peers know what each one is. Your two draft paragraphs are due on Sunday, January 21, 2024.\n<\/div>\n

2. What is one suggestion for how to make the introduction more engaging?\n<\/div>\n
3. What does the anecdote in the second paragraph tell you about the person being described? In other words, what seems to be the take-away message from this anecdote?\n<\/div>\n
4. What vivid details or narrating strategies can the writer add to the anecdote to make it clearer and\/or more memorable?\n<\/div>\n
