Observation Assignment in an Early Childhood Classroom (ages 3-8 years, Pre K \u2013 5th Grades).  Due to the nature of the course you are required to find twenty (20) YouTube videos and include the links of the videos in the paper you will turn in.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u2022           Observe students for 20 documented videos <\/b>as you maintain a journal of your observations. <\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022           Write a report of what you observed under the following categories for each video:<\/span><\/div>\n
a. Physical environment<\/span><\/div>\n
b. Curriculum; activities observed<\/span><\/div>\n
c. Adult-child interactions<\/span><\/div>\n
d. Parent or community involvement in the classroom.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022           Include pictures, student work, or flyers from the school to make it authentic<\/span><\/div>\n

  • Include the documented hours on the time sheet provided<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    REMEMBER: This is a 20-video observation. Therefore, you should have a great deal of information to select for your journal. A three- page essay must be developed by using the following guiding questions.<\/span><\/div>\n
     <\/span><\/div>\n
    a. Physical environment\u2014Describe what the room looks like. What projects are displayed? Are there windows? Are they covered with charts or projects? Is it organized? Are materials accessible to the students and teachers? Is there a defined space for the teacher?<\/span><\/div>\n
    b. Curriculum; activities observed\u2014What are some things that students are learning? (not only for one day) What subjects do the students have in the room? What subjects do the students have outside of the room?<\/span><\/div>\n
    c. Adult-child interactions \u2014How do the children respond to the teacher? How does the teacher respond to all of the different learners in the classroom? Do any children stand out to you? What behaviors do you notice? Does the teacher notice certain students more than others?<\/span><\/div>\n
    d. Parent or community involvement in the classroom\u2014Did any parents visit the classroom during your observation period? Is there another teacher in the room? How do the children respond to you?<\/span><\/div>\n

    AND THE END COMPLETE , <\/span>Instructions: To complete this assignment you will need to observe three (3) main aspects in a classroom: 1: Physical environment, 2. Curricular activities, 3. Teacher-Student Interactions. To complete this checklist, place a check mark in the aspects that you observe in the classroom. Ex:  If you observe that the environment is welcoming place a check mark under (Yes). If is not welcoming, place a check mark under (No).
