Follow these instructions to submit your assignment:<\/p>\n

  1. Select <\/span>one<\/strong> <\/span>country of your choice, and then run the Gapminder animation from 1800 to the present day. Use the same parameters as in the video (Life Expectancy and Income on the axes, Population for the size of the bubbles). You shouldn’t have to change anything other than selecting a country.<\/li>\n
  2. Take a screenshot of the final year (it should look like a trail of bubbles across the screen, each bubble plotted at a previous year).<\/li>\n
  3. Write no more than one page on the “data story” of the country that you selected (two to three paragraphs should be sufficient). Like Rosling, note both the general trajectory (it may change in different time periods), as well as the perturbations to the general direction. Are notable changes in the data explained by specific events in that country? If so, which events, and what were their effects?<\/li>\n
  4. Add your screenshot at the end and submit your paper after proofreading and editing.<\/li>\n
