Does it need to be amended, expanded, abolished?<\/p>\n<p>To structure your submission, use the following template (adapted from the HWC 510 format for<\/p>\n<p>problem definition and analysis of past policy approaches):<\/p>\n<p>Section 1: Problem Definition [one to one and a half (1<\/p>\n<p>1.5) pages]<\/p>\n<p>What is the problem? Define the specific issue or problem being addressed and discuss what<\/p>\n<p>factors led to its development. What populations are affected by it? Who is advantaged or<\/p>\n<p>disadvantaged by it? What adverse consequences does the problem pose for people, communities,<\/p>\n<p>society?<\/p>\n<p>What are the health\/well-being and justice implications of the social problem? How might the<\/p>\n<p>problem be considered a social determinant of health? How might the problem be considered an<\/p>\n<p>issue of justice?<\/p>\n<p>How is the problem perceived? How do affected populations perceive the problem? How do those<\/p>\n<p>unaffected by the problem perceive it?<\/p>\n<p>Section 2: Analysis of Past Policy Approach(es), Background [maximum of one (1) page]<\/p>\n<p>How have past or current policy efforts tried to solve the problem and failed? Describe how policy<\/p>\n<p>actors have tried to solve this problem in the past or present.<\/p>\n<p>In what ways have these approaches succeeded or failed? What can be learned from these past<\/p>\n<p>experiences?<\/p>\n<p>Section 3: Analysis of Past Policy Approach(es), Specific [three to four (3<\/p>\n<p>4) pages; Use<\/p>\n<p>subheadings, as appropriate].<\/p>\n<p>Choose a specific policy from those you introduced in Section 2, above.<\/p>\n<p>Conduct an analysis of the selected policy, with specific attention to food justice, sovereignty, and<\/p>\n<p>rights.<\/p>\n<p>Examine the contextual factors, policy negotiations\/tradeoffs, reach\/scope, implementation issues,<\/p>\n<p>functional parameters, outcomes, and\/or other relevant concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Your analysis should provide the reader with information to help answer, What makes this policy<\/p>\n<p>food-just or not?
