The aim of this series of assignments (in conjunction with Assignment 3) is to help you<\/p>\n
conceptualize how to build a research study. The Research Study Design asks you to <\/p>\n
develope a research study design. This paper should reflect your learning in the course. Make sure to incorporate changes\/feedback from the literature review related to rationale for the study and the research question.<\/p>\n
Assignment Instructions: Write a four- to five-page paper presenting a study design that <\/p>\n
you believe will help you to obtain relevant evidence to generate new or additional <\/p>\n
knowledge that will inform the research problem you identified in the Literature Review assignment. In your review, addressing the following:<\/p>\n
1. Provide a very brief statement on the rationale for the study.<\/p>\n
2. State the research question.<\/p>\n
3. State the study methodology<\/p>\n
a. Identify your general study approach (e.g., qualitative, quantitative) and specific<\/p>\n
research design. Identify the population, sampling framework, and sampling strategy. <\/p>\n
b. Describe the recruitment procedures for your sample. Describe your data collection procedures (e.g., focus groups, interviews, survey), including when you will introduce the IRB <\/p>\n
consent, who will collect data and how, data will be stored and secured, and any other relevant information. <\/p>\n
c. Identify your key measures and concepts (e.g., what will the main quantitative independent and dependent variable measures be? Or, what areas will the focus group or <\/p>\n
interviews inquire about?). <\/p>\n
d. Operationalize your variables if doing a quantitative study. Include a draft interview<\/p>\n
guide if doing a qualitative study.<\/p>\n
f. Identify any known limitations to your study design. Describe how you will disseminate or report your findings. Provide a few statements on what new knowledge you believe your <\/p>\n
study will create and add to the literature. State how your findings will help fill the knowledge gap you<\/p>\n
identified in your literature review.<\/p>\n
5. Provide a brief discussion of the ways in which your proposed study reflects the values<\/p>\n
within the Code of Ethics. Select specific examples of areas where your proposed study<\/p>\n
reflects those values and areas. In this section, you must do more than identify the value\u2014you must clearly explicate the aspects of your study that reflect the value. Describe where your study does not fully reflect the values of the profession and why this is the case (e.g., limitations in sampling, measurement, recruitment, or other issues).<\/p>\n
Specifications: The paper will be double-spaced, in APA format, with citations and <\/p>\n
references.<\/p>\n
Use headers and sub headers within your paper. Include citations as needed to support <\/p>\n
your statements and decisions. Include a cover page. Save the file with your last name in<\/p>\n
