Write a minimum four, maximum five-page APA paper (not including the frontpage and reference page) describing the issue of racism and implicit bias
preventing optimal care for women who are pregnant or postpartum in the United
States. Find TWO journal articles written in the last five years as well as one
government resource (CDC, WHO) to use for your paper. You should have a
minimum of three references that are current, and evidence based. The
resources you use must be based on evidence. Please refer to the rubric when
writing your paper.Discuss current maternal mortality rates for women who are black or brown and
compare them to those of women who are white. Include information about why
this is happening as well as how it can be changed. You may include discussion
of the personal stories from the video.
You do not need to identify the results of your implicit bias testing but provide a
summary of the test and how you felt completing it. There are a lot of mixed
reviews on this, but it seems to be the standard for determining implicit bias in
medical facilities.Finally, include your own ideas for how we can broaden this discussion to include
our patients, communities, and co-workers, as well as inter and intra-disciplinary
