For me, success isn\u2019t just about numbers on a report card\u2014it\u2019s about the people I help, the change I make, and the legacy I leave behind. That belief is what gave birth to EmpowerEd, my passion project and the heartbeat of my dreams. It all started with a question that wouldn\u2019t leave my mind: \u201cWhat if students had someone to guide them\u2014someone who truly understands their struggles?\u201d In my early high school years, I faced moments of doubt and confusion. I didn\u2019t always know where to go for help or how to prepare for my future. While I was lucky to eventually find my way, I realized that many bright, determined students across Ethiopia were still navigating alone. I couldn\u2019t just sit back and accept that. EmpowerEd began as a simple idea: to create a space where high school students could connect, learn, and grow together. I launched it on Telegram and Discord, platforms many students already use. At first, it was just me\u2014sharing study tips, college prep advice, and motivational posts. But slowly, something amazing happened. Students began joining. They asked questions, supported each other, and even volunteered to help the community grow. EmpowerEd became more than a project\u2014it became a movement. Running EmpowerEd hasn\u2019t always been easy. Balancing schoolwork with leadership was challenging. There were times when I questioned whether I was doing enough, or whether anyone cared. But every time someone messaged me saying, \u201cThis helped me,\u201d or \u201cI feel less alone now,\u201d I knew it was worth it.
