You have two options:

representation of death. You will make an argument about its death conceptualization.
2. You can choose a non-North American fairytale, folktale, or parable and trace its renditions throughout time through its conceptualization of death. You will make an argument about why and how its conceptualization of death has changed through the course of its renditions. When you are analyzing your chosen fairytale, folktale, or parable, think about the ideas we have discussed in class. Apply your close reading skills to the tale and critically analyze its representation of death. Like your analytical paragraph assignment, the point of this essay isn\u2019t to regurgitate what you have learned in lecture but rather to apply your own thinking towards a text. What is your interpretation of death in the text? Why? What examples or evidence can you pull from the text to back up your claims?

Remember: You must also AVOID PLOT SUMMARY. A paper that centres on plot summary
will not be successful.
