    Students are required to watch the Frontline documentary “Once Upon a Time in Iraq” https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/wgbh\/frontline\/film\/once-upon-a-time-in-iraq\/<\/a> and write a 2 page analyis (double-spaced, size 12 Times New Roman font) that examines the following:<\/p>\n

    The United States under the administration of George W. Bush launched an unprovoked attack and invasion of Iraq in 2003 which completely violated international law. To justify its actions, the Bush Administration deliberately lied to both Congress and the world community (in its false presentation at the United Nations) that the Iraqi regime under Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction and that this presented a direct threat to global peace. UN weapons inspectors had vehemently opposed this and argued that the Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein had been open to ongoing inspections which clearly showed no such weapons were being produced. Even though every country, except Britain, rejected the false argument the U.S. presented, which they knew to be untrue, the Bush Administration ignored world opinion and chose to launch its assault regardless.<\/p>\n

    After watching the video and listening to the stories of those impacted, examine how this decision by the government of the United States destroyed the lives of so many innocent people and led to tremendous chaos and violence in Iraq and across the Middle East.<\/p>\n
