Public history<\/span> \u2013 for this type of project, you will pitch and op-ed to \u201cMade by History\u201d blog on WashingtonPost.com or \u201cSources and Methods\u201d on wilsoncenter.org or similar venues. Your paper should have two sections: a pitch and an op-ed <\/b>(not longer than 800-1000 words). It should be about the uses (and abuses) of history, memory, historical lessons, historical analogies, etc. and written for a general reader. It is a \u201cnews-driven\u201d format, and your topic should be relevant to the current events (e.g., Biden\u2019s recognition of the Armenian genocide, the conflict in the Middle East, or whatever is going on in recent months) or discuss new or under-utilized sources.<\/span>For this assignment it will be an OP-Ed.
