You may use primary sources found in the assigned readings on the Canvas<\/span><\/p>\n

website for this class, but others are also welcome as long as they are identifiably<\/span><\/p>\n

primary sources..<\/span><\/p>\n

You must quote or cite from at least FIVE PRIMARY SOURCES (that i will provide) and at least FIVE<\/span><\/p>\n

SECONDARY SOURCES. More of each are acceptable, fewer of each are not.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondary sources which are not valid include blogs, etc. You are welcome to<\/span><\/p>\n

use class notes and information from class Power Point presentations as<\/span><\/p>\n

background information, but you must cite them if you use them.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

2. Structure Your Paper\u2019s Argument<\/span><\/p>\n

Make certain that your paper is not just a recounting of events! Your best<\/span><\/p>\n

strategy is to answer the topical question you posed. Provide analysis which<\/span><\/p>\n

looks at how and why events happened; who did something (and the significance<\/span><\/p>\n

of that action \/ decision); what was the significance of events; when and where<\/span><\/p>\n

events took place; and the significance \/ impact of those events. Be certain that<\/span><\/p>\n

your paper\u2019s arguments follow a logical process.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/p>\n

3.  Style and Format Guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n

a. Use the \u201cChicago\u201d format, NOT MLA or APA formats for your paper,<\/span><\/p>\n

including FOOTNOTES (not endnotes) for all citations. Find examples of<\/span><\/p>\n

Chicago style formats at the \u201cPurdue Owl\u201d. Your paper must have at least 8 FULL PAGES OF TEXT (longer is fine, shorter is not), plus a separate bibliography page, plus a separate cover page. If you use images in your paper, place them after the pages of text and before the bibliography.. <\/span><\/p>\n

NOT count toward the 8 pages of text. Remember that 8 FULL pages or text<\/span><\/p>\n

means seven pages and a few lines on page 9.<\/span><\/p>\n

     The cover page must contain the title of your paper, an image if you wish<\/span>(this is optional),     <\/span>your name and student ID number, the class and section, and <\/span>the date the paper is due         (Tuesday, December 5, 2023). <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    On the first page of text, put only the title of your paper on the top line,<\/span>then begin your text.    Do not place your name, other identification or date on the<\/span>first page of text. Do not begin       your text lower on the first page; it should be one<\/span>line below the title, which should be on the   first (top) line of the page (but not the <\/span>header).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    in the text of your paper, use 12-point sized Times New Roman type font.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Space lines at 1.5 distance, with just ONE 1.5 space between paragraphs <\/span>(the same spacing   as between lines inside each paragraph of text).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n
