 <\/b><\/span>Internet Assignment Paper.<\/b><\/p>\n

Students will complete an internet assignment on a Texas Governor\u2019s veto\/pocket veto<\/b><\/span>. Students will demonstrate <\/span><\/p>\n

sophomore level research skills in getting the story and sophomore level writing skills in telling the story of the <\/span><\/p>\n

veto\/pocket veto chosen.<\/p>\n

As defined, here is a required<\/b><\/span> outline of the paper. Again, this is a required<\/b><\/span> <\/b><\/span>outline that must be followed.<\/p>\n

Use as many paragraphs as necessary within each heading (Intro etc) of the outline. <\/span><\/p>\n

-How may a Governor veto\/line item veto a bill? <\/span><\/p>\n

-Give general reasons why Governors veto\/line item veto bills. <\/span><\/p>\n

-Say how often Governors attempt vetoes\/line item vetoes and how often they are successful. <\/span><\/p>\n

-Which Governor attempted the most vetoes\/line item vetoes, which the least? Why?<\/p>\n

-Which Governor was the most successful and which the least? Why?<\/p>\n

-Choose any veto\/line-item veto from Henderson to Abbott.<\/p>\n

-State why you chose the particular veto\/line item veto.<\/p>\n

-Introduce and describe the bill that was vetoed\/line item vetoed. What was the bill intended to do?<\/p>\n

-Talk about its passage<\/p>\n

-What were the Governor\u2019s reasons for the veto\/line item veto? <\/span><\/p>\n

-Tell the story of the veto override if an override was attempted. <\/span><\/p>\n

-A description and analysis of one or two related vetoes\/line item vetoes or overrides may be included. <\/span><\/p>\n
