You are a digital consulting team working on a project for one of three client organisations<\/p>\n

described below. Your task is to propose an AI solution that is part of a new Digital<\/p>\n

Transformation project that responds to new market dynamics affecting the company by<\/p>\n

reviewing 1. strategic drivers and positioning of the business that push for AI adoption and<\/p>\n

digital transformation, and 2. review the internal capabilities and structural arrangements<\/p>\n

needed to adopt this new type of AI solutions and move the organisation towards the new<\/p>\n

strategic positioning and business model.Your client is looking to make a radical change in response to emergent technological changes<\/span><\/p>\n

such as AI solutions. This requires a review of new and emergent technologies and effects on<\/p>\n

business model of the business, and a review of the digital work platform supporting day to<\/p>\n

day work in the organisation and opportunities to integrate AI in work activities.<\/p>\n

The three clients<\/p>\n

The three clients you can work with are: 1. Global pharma company, or 2. A global<\/p>\n

management consulting firm, 3. A Multinational retail bank. Below is a short description of<\/p>\n

the current situation of the three organisations. (we have shosen the third Client)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Company 3: A multinational retail bank with offices around the world and headquarters in<\/p>\n

the UK but a strong presence in Asia. The bank places a strong emphasis on local and<\/p>\n

decentralised governance. Your client is the Head of the Retail division responsible for<\/p>\n

managing all operations from all the branches of this bank in the UK, and the call centres that<\/p>\n

support and serve individual customers and small businesses. This is the largest and important<\/p>\n

division of the company and includes a variety of roles and functions, from customer facing<\/p>\n

employees in branches and call centres, to back-office staff dealing with processes and<\/p>\n

analysis of applications, payments, as well as nomadic staff visiting local SMEs and individual<\/p>\n

customers. Although the bank is doing well, recently the financial market is being challenged<\/p>\n

by Fintech smaller banks which provide a much better customer experience. Further the bank<\/p>\n

currently has old fashioned work platforms which employees consider to be too process<\/p>\n

driven and not engaging \u2013 employees say that \u201cit is all about work\u201d. Staff use it to perform<\/p>\n

banking transactions, produce reports and inform customers of complex products such as<\/p>\n

high-end loans, mortgages and wealth management as well as collaborate with colleagues on<\/p>\n

projects. The CEO of the Retail division is based in the UK but has overall responsibility for the<\/p>\n

Retail division across the world. She is interested in keeping staff informed about everything<\/p>\n

in the business, reducing risks and cost of operations but, most importantly, is keen to create<\/p>\n

a platform that reflects the values and purpose of the company so as to improve innovation,<\/p>\n

retention and engagement in the workforce. The Retail division of the bank attracts many<\/p>\n

new graduates every year and the average age of staff is low compared to other areas of the<\/p>\n

bank. The culture of the bank is entrepreneurial, but strong regulation in the financial services<\/p>\n

sector tends to stifle some of the more ambitious initiatives. Since the pandemic outbreak<\/p>\n

the bank has had to move its operations online, and now all staff are working remotely. This<\/p>\n

has increased the need to create a platform that enables employees to know what is going<\/p>\n

on and collaborate across functions and areas of the organisation. The CEO is interested to<\/p>\n

know how to reposition the retail bank in this new market dynamics and to develop a new<\/p>\n

platform for digital work to enable everyone to work remotely but more importantly that<\/p>\n

connects everyone and reflects the key values of the organisation.<\/p>\n

Key requirements of your assignment<\/p>\n

The main elements of your digital transformation project are:<\/p>\n

– <\/span>Review and respond to new market dynamics affecting your client, and develop a new<\/p>\n

digital-driven business model that is consistent with emergent new technological<\/p>\n

challenges and opportunities such as AI<\/p>\n

– <\/span>Review internal structures and capabilities needed to prepare the organisation for that<\/p>\n

new business model Propose an AI feature that is part of a new digital workplace platform solution that could<\/span><\/p>\n

for example enable employees to be better connected and collaborative, or more easily<\/p>\n

access news and information at the local and more global levels, enable targeted<\/p>\n

communications and engagement with underrepresented groups, and find relevant<\/p>\n

knowledge across the organisation. At a more advanced level, it could pre-empt needs<\/p>\n

for information or tasks, assist and support management decisions and learn from past<\/p>\n

decisions, support senior management in strategic review and decision making, as well<\/p>\n

as produce notes of meetings, assist in report writing and summarising information.<\/p>\n

Your digital solution should reflect the specific business context in the organisation, as well as<\/p>\n

its culture and internal structure, as well as the needs of specific groups of employees. While<\/p>\n

the company profiles above are partially fictional, they reflect real organisations. These are<\/p>\n

starting positions for your consulting team, so your team is supposed to do additional<\/p>\n

research on real organisations in the same industry to add detail, and create a richer and more<\/p>\n

detailed profile of your client organisation. You have a degree of \u201ccreative licence\u201d to fill gaps<\/p>\n

so you can create additional content that is realistic and \u201cbelievable\u201d, for example in creating<\/p>\n

credible personas (a technique we will cover in class). However, you should try to find<\/p>\n

information from real organisations on the web or through interviews with people from that<\/p>\n

industry, as much as possible.<\/p>\n

Final deliverable<\/p>\n

 <\/span>The final deliverable is a presentation and report of a professional standard to your client that<\/p>\n

should cover the following sections:<\/p>\n

 1)<\/span>Review current situation and focus on problem \/ opportunity to address. Review<\/p>\n

strategic drivers of the business, as well as existing processes using design thinking<\/p>\n

methods such as empathy maps and personas.<\/p>\n

2) <\/span>Review digital workplace environment and possible use cases for new AI based<\/p>\n

solution in the organisation.<\/p>\n

3)Propose a new digital strategy and an AI solution for the organisation<\/p>\n
