In Chapter 6, the textbook examines the suggestion that science played a crucial role in the Industrial Revolution. Today, technological innovation is often associated with the Industrial Revolution and we consider science to be the \u2018basis for technology.\u2019 However, the Industrial Revolution is an interesting case study for the relationship between science and technology. It is viewed as the turning point in the relationship.
