Schools and MATs are now faced with the dual pressures of maintaining educational standards while navigating unprecedented financial constraints, leading to the necessity of cost-cutting measures that often compromise the quality of students\u2019 education and experience.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; cursor: auto;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; cursor: auto;\">In response to these financial limitations, many schools have already scaled back enrichment activities, extracurricular programmes, and other student-centred initiatives. The result is that the most significant loss falls on students, who receive a narrower, less engaging educational experience. This trend is particularly concerning as it impacts not only academic learning but also the broader personal and social development opportunities that are critical to a well-rounded education.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; cursor: auto;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; cursor: auto;\">This research proposal seeks to address these financial and operational challenges by exploring the use of technology and sensors to create more efficient and cost-effective school environments. Specifically, the focus will be on integrating smart technologies within school buildings to reduce energy consumption and operational costs. By linking aspects of a building\u2014such as lighting, heating, and air conditioning\u2014schools can optimise energy use, leading to measurable cost savings.
