gather current<\/span> <\/span>research studies (after<\/span> <\/span>2<\/span>015, at least<\/span> <\/span>25<\/span> <\/span>research<\/span>–<\/span>based articles) related to the topic<\/span>
from<\/span> <\/span>research journals (e.g., AERJ)<\/span>, a<\/span>nd 3) write a literature review<\/span> <\/span>paper<\/span> <\/span>on the topic (<\/span>Students<\/span> <\/span>can access the journals via<\/span> the library<\/span>. The cover page, abstract, and<\/span> <\/span>references<\/span> <\/span>are included in the page limit\/word count.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Purpose:<\/span> <\/span>The purpose of this<\/span> <\/span>literature review<\/span> <\/span>project is to demonstrate<\/span> <\/span>students\u2019<\/span> <\/span>understanding of <\/span>the topic<\/span> <\/span>they<\/span> <\/span>have researched,<\/span> <\/span>their<\/span> <\/span>ability to<\/span> <\/span>develop themes among<\/span> <\/span>research articles, identify the <\/span>gap in current research, their ability to<\/span> <\/span>write clearly, and<\/span> <\/span>their<\/span> <\/span>fam<\/span>iliarity with the research format<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Students can develop a poster presentation based on this literature review to be presented to <\/span>professors, graduate and undergraduate students, staff, and alumni of the University at the<\/span> Lecture.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Format:<\/span> <\/span>The<\/span> <\/span>paper MUST<\/span> <\/span>follow APA format and<\/span> <\/span>include the following:<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Title\/Cover Page<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Abstract<\/span> <\/span>that summarizes the key points of the paper<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>An<\/span> <\/span>introductory section<\/span> <\/span>that identifies the topic\/issue\/question that<\/span> <\/span>students<\/span> <\/span>will<\/span> <\/span>focus on.<\/span>
Tell the reader the<\/span> <\/span>paper\u2019<\/span>s purpose<\/span> <\/span>and why the topic\/issue\/question<\/span> <\/span>is significant enough to <\/span>be explored.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>A<\/span> <\/span>methodology section<\/span> <\/span>that discusses<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>literature review process (e.g., BU<\/span> <\/span>database<\/span>, use of <\/span>key terms for finding the relevant articles\/research studies).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>An<\/span> <\/span>implication section<\/span> <\/span>that tells what<\/span> <\/span>the student\u2019s<\/span> <\/span>project means for<\/span> <\/span>educators<\/span> <\/span>or other<\/span>
professionals (<\/span>e.g.,<\/span> <\/span>implications for further research<\/span>).<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>A<\/span> <\/span>reference list<\/span> <\/span>section<\/span> <\/span>that includes the research articles that have<\/span> <\/span>been<\/span> <\/span>read and cited.<\/span> <\/span>Use <\/span>APA format<\/span>, 7th edition for<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>reference & citation format.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Criteria<\/span>:<\/span> <\/span>The<\/span> <\/span>literature review will be evaluated based on the following components: purpose, data, <\/span>findings, implication, organization, use of APA, and use of resources: See the detailed criteria in the <\/span>rubric in Brightspace.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

introduction section: background, why are you searching for this topic, what\u2019s the importance of exploring this, how are you going to. <\/span><\/p>\n

I collect data through the what database, what key terms, what years, how many articles come out, find out some articles don\u2019t work, and how many articles work and why those are working. <\/span><\/p>\n

Finding section: what did you find from research articles<\/span><\/p>\n

1st themes, current research shows that then put evidence from different articles ( at least 3 articles to be stronger) <\/span><\/p>\n
