Description of Project:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

This project requires the student to conduct a formal review of literature concerning an area pertaining to nursing, a clinical nursing issue, or healthcare issue related to nursing is required of students completing NURS 2062 and NURS 2063.  <\/span><\/span>The area of interest, clinical issue, or research problem may focus on content related to this course or current trends in nursing or health care. The PICOT, current and relevant <\/span>nursing<\/b> <\/span>research-based articles, article summaries, and presentation are due together in NURS 2062 on the designated date listed on the course calendar. Students can use the PICOT questions developed in NURS 2020 or choose another topic. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Learning Outcomes<\/span><\/b>: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct literature review to obtain evidence-based articles from reliable peer reviewed nursing journals or by nursing author.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Summarize evidence-based practice presented in the peer reviewed nursing journal.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Title of the project should be placed as a question on title page in APA format: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>include problem question, your name, course number, school, and date. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Examples:<\/span><\/p>\n

a. \u201cIn mechanically ventilated ICU patients, does positioning the patient in semi-fowlers result in a lower incidence of nosocomial pneumonia when compared to the supine position?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

b. What are best practices to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Summarize the 4 articles.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The <\/span>title of the article<\/b> <\/span>should be placed on top of the page prior to the summary written, in APA format; <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Do not place the article reference on the top of the page, title only.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The article summary should be a total of 2-4 paragraphs consisting of <\/span>research summary<\/b> <\/span>(purpose of the research, how research was conducted, what was found, etc.) and <\/span>relevance to nursing practice<\/b> <\/span>(This research is relevant to nursing practice because <\/span><\/span>\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span>…). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

o   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Information should be written in your own words or paraphrasing and should be cited in APA format. Use direct quotes only when necessary. The relevance to nursing practice article summary should include 1-2 paragraphs explaining how the article relates to the problem question and how it impacts nursing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>4 relevant <\/span>research<\/b>-based <\/span>nursing<\/b> <\/span>articles dated within the last 5 years. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
