Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act comes with intended and unintended consequences. The reason the act was put in place first is that it was able to help provide states with more resources to help develop, implement, and evaluate strategies that prevent child maltreatment, reduce entry into the public child welfare system, and enhance the overall well-being of children and families (Children\u2019s Bureau, 2017). In addition, the act doesn\u2019t just focus on children, but it also impacts human service programs. Funding to help these programs benefits the beneficiaries and helps prevent child abuse and neglect rather than a problem that already occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n Federally funded programs come with consequences. There are two options that increase taxes for taxpayers or cut funding from other funded programs. Furthermore, if the government needs funding, they should not take it out on the people that are paying taxes but try to cut from somewhere else. There are negative aspects that come with increasing funding for CAPTA, but the positive outweighs the negative. This will help prevent child abuse and protect child abuse victims.
