Role Play Video<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may want to develop a script to follow before recording your video. The Role Play Video Project will be an opportunity for you to apply your knowledge of the theoretical foundations and techniques of family therapy. You will set up a mock counseling session with a family member or friend, interview them about hypothetical issues, and apply some of the therapeutic concepts and interventions that you have found to be the most useful throughout this course. You will also record your 10\u201315 minute (maximum) counseling session. During your counseling session, include a case conceptualizing discussion of what is going on with the client, their background information, a professional assessment of the situation, and the details regarding the treatment plan that you recommend.<\/p>\n

Your interview may be shared with others in the class; therefore, to maintain confidentiality, please do not disclose any actual existing personal problems or issues related to your family member or friend during the mock counseling session. Instead, you will use hypothetical scenarios to guide your conversation during the interview process. Please refer to the text for ideas if you would like to use some of the presented scenarios.<\/p>\n
