  1. QI Proposal Literature Review:<\/li>\n
      \n
    1. You do not need to “write up” your literature review. This will be incorporated through citations throughout your QI proposal. You should, however, have completed your literature review which will ensure you have references to support your problem description (both for the customer and financial), your proposed improvement intervention, and anticipated outcomes.<\/li>\n
    2. You are not experts in the information you are sharing. If you are making a statement you should have a source\/citation to support it.<\/li>\n
    3. While these assignments are building toward your final QI proposal, they should still be in the form of academic writing. Please do not include first-person pronouns (i.e. “I am proposing” or “we would like to see”)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    4. QI Proposal aim(s)\/objectives:<\/li>\n
        \n
      1. This should be a statement describing what you hope to achieve through your QI proposal intervention. This could be 1-2 sentences.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      2. QI Proposal Intervention(s):<\/li>\n
          \n
        1. This is your methods description. This should be very detailed and will make up a large section of your final QI proposal. This section of the SQUIRE guidelines would be “Context, Intervention(s), and Study of Intervention(s).”<\/li>\n
        2. You should describe your improvement intervention in detail, including references to support the intervention.<\/li>\n
        3. You should use PDSA method and describe the planned intervention in the context of the method.<\/li>\n
            \n
          1. For example, if you are choosing PDSA you should explain the “plan,” explain how you will “do” the plan on a small scale, how you will “study” the intervention to determine what “act” may be needed. Describe what types of “act(ion)” you may need to take. You should then describe how you would expand you next cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          2. You should consider and describe which stakeholders will be important to ensure your intervention will be successful (i.e.: executive sponsor, manager\/supervisor, educator, department chairs, IT, finance, values analysis team, pharmacy and therapeutics committee, etc.) Describe how you will engage these stakeholders.<\/li>\n
          3. You should describe any resources your intervention may require (i.e.: time, money, people). You should also explain anticipated costs in this section. You can make estimates but this will be important for your week 8 assignment where you need to describe the anticipated cost savings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n
