This assignment is part two of four parts (Concept Analysis Paper due in Week 5).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The assignment for this week involves identifying how the concept is used in nursing practice, its defining attributes (characteristics), and an example of a model case that illustrates the fundamental components of the concept.<\/p>\n

For this assignment, you are to prepare an APA formatted 3-5 page paper (not including the Title Page and Reference Page) that addresses the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • No abstract is required.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Use the following as headings in the body of the paper: Concept Uses, Defining Attributes, and Model Case.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Paper content includes scholarly support from the literature. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Omit Part Unit-I Part I in your submission.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A. Concept Uses<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Select a grand or mid-range <\/span>nursing<\/span> <\/span>theory that supports the concept selected for your Week 1 paper. <\/p>\n

    2. Explain how\/why that theory supports the development of the concept you selected.<\/p>\n

    3. Discuss its usefulness in nursing practice, research, education, and administration.<\/p>\n

    4. Select and discuss a research study that uses a grand nursing theory in a nursing practice study.<\/p>\n

    5. Discuss its application to evaluating safe, effective, quality care practices.<\/p>\n

    B. Defining Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Determine the defining attributes of your chosen concept and the importance of determining the defining attributes.  For example, a key attribute of the pregnancy concept is a fetal heartbeat. <\/span><\/p>\n

      C. Model Case<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Construct a Model Case that shares all of the key attributes of the concept and all the defining criteria. The Model Case is a brief situational<\/span> description validating the concept, including all of the characteristics you have listed which describe or make up the concept. The Model Case reflects the ultimate example of the concept.  <\/span><\/span><\/span>For instance, within the concept of body image, a model case might deal with someone who has experienced full-body third-degree burns.  <\/span><\/p>\n
