For many of the species groups in this course, and in particular algae, there is the possibility you could be introducing an entirely new product. For this reason, much of aquaculture product development, sales, and marketing includes information on how to prepare different food dishes or possible uses for the product. Many times the goal of this fact sheet is to educate the consumer on the product and ways it can be incorporated. Select one species of algae or crustacean that is not part of your course project and include information about its aquaculture. In a paragraph discussed where it is farmed, the kind of system it is farmed in, and if it falls under any sustainability guides: <\/span><\/span>Seafood Watch<\/span><\/span>Links to an external site.<\/span><\/span><\/a>. Then find a recipe, very short cooking video or guidelines for how to use the product or prepare the species, from the perspective of educating the consumer. Add a short caption for the recipe or video describing what and how the product is being prepared. What would you want to convey to the consumer about how the product is farmed or harvested in addition to its use?<\/span><\/p>\n
