PORTFOLIO: A portfolio project, comprising 20% of course grade, will be added to each program in
\nthe Criminal Justice and Legal Studies department. This is a purposeful collection of student
\nwork that is accumulated throughout the student\u2019s studies. Under the guidance of the CJ\/LS Chair
\nand each instructor, students must submit materials that reveal the extent of student learning,
\nachievement, and development. The portfolio is intended to assess acquired knowledge and
\ncompetence in areas considered necessary to successfully work as a professional in a legal
\nenvironment. Each course will have one assignment that is used as an assessment and portfolio
\nassignment. Of course, students will have the option of adding additional assignments as well.
\nThe portfolio is due the eighth week but to provide feedback to students before the term ends, it is
\nrecommended that it is submitted early in week 7.
\nFormal Examinations:
\ni. APA format including abstract, content and resources
\nii. No quotes; all information must be cited and put in your own words
\niii. Minimum of five academically-sound sources
\niv. Type-written in a Times New Roman 12-font
\nv. Online sources may be used if they are academically sound.
\nvi. All online sources must be identified by name of author and date of posting
\nvii. Minimum of 3 pages of text
\nviii. Paper must be submitted online
