Proposal: For
\nmy research paper I want to study the effects of construction patterns in
\npreviously redlined neighborhoods in Portland, Oregon. Specifically looking at
\nurban heat island effect, green spaces, housing density, access to resources
\n(air-conditioning, swimming pools, public cooling centers). I want to explore
\nhow these construction patterns (prevalence of concrete and asphalt) can
\ncontribute by comparing temperature data across different neighborhoods. I want
\nto investigate how historical redlining policies have shaped current
\nconstruction patterns and infrastructure in these neighborhoods that
\ncontributes to the vulnerability to heat-related health issues and any other
\nfactors that may arise.<\/span><\/p>\n
