Scratch is a fascinating documentary of the emergence of a new musical genre.  Note ways that this genre conforms to more traditional musical genres of the past.  Then note ways that this genre forges new territories in music creation, performance and consumption.  Some things to consider might be the skill level required, the level of dedication to the craft, the use of technology, the relationship to the fan base, the nature of live performance and the nature of recorded performances.  <\/span>Do you consider scratch practitioners to be musicians?<\/strong> <\/span> You must include three references to specific elements from the movie.  <\/strong><\/p>\n
