    I didn\u2019t budge. And then I decided. I didn\u2019t have to do what my mother said anymore. I wasn\u2019t her slave. This wasn\u2019t China. I had listened to her before and look what happened. She was the stupid one.<\/p>\n

    She came out from the kitchen and stood in the arched entryway of the living room. \u201cFour clock,\u201d she said once again, louder.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI\u2019m not going to play anymore,\u201d I said nonchalantly. \u201cWhy should I? I\u2019m not a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n

    She walked over and stood in front of the TV. I saw her chest was heaving up and down in an angry way.<\/p>\n
