My paper is going to examine photography’s role in capturing and reflecting reality, memory, and mortality. I will briefly include our theorists point of views and how they relate to my pictures as short body paragraphs. Highlighting the key points of the theorists and relating them to the picture. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ex. Heidegger’s view of photography as limiting our understanding of the world, Kracauer’s focus on its surface details and social impact, and Barthes, Damisch, and Berger’s concept of photos as symbols of mortality. It also considers Benjamin\u2019s idea of hidden details in images, Derrida\u2019s exploration of memory and loss, and Nancy\u2019s view of images as unique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally bringing these together and answering the question about how these concepts are interrelated in the medium of photography. As well as how these theories shift the views on photography and enhance our understanding. To finish, I will include my personal take on what photography means to me and how it has changed now knowing much more about the different meanings and concepts we have learned about in class. <\/span><\/p>\n
