Part of the joy of college is the ability to be creative, think outside the box, and synthesize <\/span><\/span>knowledge in new and exciting ways. Therefore, I\u2019d like for you all to submit a creative project <\/span><\/span>that in some way relates to one or more of the topics covered. The form that this project takes is <\/span><\/span>completely up to you\u2014it could be a recorded presentation, a research paper\/research brief (5-10 <\/span><\/span>pages), an infographic (3-4 pages long), a letter to the editor with sources (3,000 \u2013 5000 words). <\/span><\/span>Whatever you submit has to be equal in information thus a 5 – 10 page research paper condensed, <\/span><\/span>is roughly 3-4 pages of an infographic, and an op-ed\/letter to the editor of 3,000 – 5000 words is <\/span><\/span>about the same equivalency. I have uploaded examples of an infographic, two research briefs, and <\/span><\/span>a list of sites titled \u201cAlternatives to Power Point\u201d which you may use (you may also use power <\/span><\/span>point if you choose). A rubric with more assignment details is also located online. This project <\/span><\/span>must be in your own words, and should cite 3-5 sociological sources that are scholarly (either from <\/span><\/span>academic journals, books written and published by academic presses, or other high quality <\/span><\/span>sources). Failure to include scholarly peer reviewed sources will result in a D\u2014only projects that <\/span><\/span>also include sociologial source will receive an A.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
