When developing
\nyour manifesto, you need to rigorously try and tease out some personal
\nresponses to the conservation and sustainable issues that are of importance to
\nyou. You also need to identify which are the most important aspects of
\nsignificance to conserve and how this should be done, citing precedent projects
\nthat achieve or fall short of those objectives. By considering both
\nconservation and sustainability you are asked to navigate two current and
\ndifficult issues the conservation of existing stock and the challenges around
\nclimate change. <\/span><\/p>\n

How to develop the Manifesto<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

The piece of work
\nyou are asked to develop needs to explore conservation issues and ideas within
\na sustainable context in an analytical way. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are many
\ndifferent types of manifesto and many ways of approaching the task. However, a
\nnumber of common features are expected from this piece of work:<\/span><\/p>\n

–        
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>a very clear structure and rationale<\/span><\/p>\n

–        
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>use of grounded existing work; <\/span><\/p>\n

–        
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>present your position in a systematic
\nand thought-out way. <\/span><\/p>\n

–        
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>analyse the material\/information
\ngathered; <\/span><\/p>\n

–        
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>and, then draw conclusions<\/span><\/p>\n

It
\nis important that your manifesto is grounded in existing work or literature in
\norder to provide the background and context for your own position. This will
\nhelp you identify and refine your aims \/ policies. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a>The Final Submission <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

Assessment for
\nthis piece of coursework is based on the final written manifesto. The manifesto
\nshould be a maximum of 1,500 (+\/- 10%) words in length, excluding appendices
\nand references. Assessment criteria include the following: <\/span><\/p>\n

1.      
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>clarity and definition of the aims and
\nscope of the manifesto; <\/span><\/p>\n

2.      
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>breadth and\/or depth, accuracy and
\nappropriateness of the academic content underpinning your manifesto; <\/span><\/p>\n

3.      
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>structure, layout, rigour and accuracy
\nof expression of the overall manifesto; <\/span><\/p>\n

4.      
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>consistency of citation and listing of
\nsources, in UWE Harvard format: quality of organisation, expression and
\npresentation<\/span><\/p>\n

\nnot strictly weighted, but each will be considered when determining the final
