Andrea Yates drowned her 5 children during an episode of postpartum depression.  She had a long prior history of mental illness. <\/p>\n

She is not alone. Approximately 1-2% of all pregnancies result in post-partum psychosis. Some of those individuals go on to commit infanticide, murdering their children. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
