A.   <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct at
\nleast a 1-2 hour site visit of a service delivery program that benefits older
\nadults and an interview with an elderly person, provider, advocate, or policy
\nmaker.<\/span><\/p>\n

B.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nvisit\/interview must be planned, focused, and explore an area that is
\nunfamiliar to the student (See assignment #2 below to help you in your
\nplanning).<\/span><\/p>\n

Site
\nVisit Presentation (20%)<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A.   <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop a
\n15-minute presentation on the site visit made to a service delivery program
\nthat benefits older adults and an interview you conducted with an elderly
\nperson, provider, advocate, or policy maker.<\/span><\/p>\n

B.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\npresentation should be organized as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                 
\n<\/span>i.     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Name of program
\nand person(s) interviewed. Describe the service and role(s) that they play in
\ncaring for the older person(s). Please also include details of the site (name,
\nservices provided, location, etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n

                                               
\n<\/span>ii.     <\/span><\/span><\/span>What are the 5
\nspecific and relevant question(s) you asked during the visit\/interview and
\nDescription of content \/ answer the question<\/span><\/p>\n

                                              
\n<\/span>iii.     <\/span><\/span><\/span>(e.g., What
\nservices are available for the older adults? how do these services get funded?
\nHow is adult day care individualized? How does an older adult compensate for
\nlimited function, etc? These questions are just examples. Come up with your own
\nquestions based on the particular agency or person you are visiting)<\/span><\/p>\n

                                              
\n<\/span>iv.     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conclude with a
\nnew question and future plan to improve the care of older adults in that agency
\nor environment (e.g., what is the cost of individualized care? what happens
\nwhen compensatory mechanisms fail?)<\/span><\/p>\n

C.    <\/span>Slides, posters, short films or other visual
\nmaterials may be used. <\/span><\/p>\n

D.    <\/span>Presentations should not exceed 15<\/u><\/b>
\nminutes in duration.<\/span><\/p>\n
