Research<br \/>\nindicates that young people spend a considerable portion of their day engaging<br \/>\nwith social media platforms (Twenge &amp; Campbell, 2018). This pervasive<br \/>\nengagement has the potential to affect their psychological well-being, with<br \/>\nstudies showing varying effects on self-esteem, anxiety, and depression (Twenge<br \/>\n&amp; Campbell, 2018). The developmental stage of adolescence, marked by<br \/>\nheightened sensitivity to peer approval and identity exploration, suggests that<br \/>\nthe influence of social media during this period is particularly significant.<br \/>\nYet, there is a scarcity of comprehensive research adopting a psychosocial<br \/>\nperspective to understand how these virtual platforms may be intertwined with<br \/>\nadolescent development and mental health.
