Student 1: Sophia is in the second grade. She changed schools in November. She loved her old elementary school. Her old school focused on whole word reading.
\nHer new school only teaches phonics. Sophia is embarrassed that she cannot sound out words like the other students. <\/div>\n
Student 2: Jacob is failing most of his middle school courses. The teachers seem to think he is incompetent and lazy. Jacob agrees with them. He is eager to drop
\nout of school. Nothing in school seems to pertain to his real life. <\/div>\n
Student 3: Mia has failed Algebra II twice. She wants to graduate this year, more importantly, her parents want her to graduate this year. In order to graduate, she
\nhas to pass Algebra II. She does not believe she is capable of doing math. She also works 25 hours a week in order to save for college. <\/div>\n
