Scenario<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

You are the manager of an infusion center.  The center is only open from 9 am – 5 pm and cannot stay open any longer than that due to the lease that you signed. <\/p>\n

In the infusion center you have 3 infusion chairs.  Only one patient can be in each chair at a time. You don’t have any funds in your budget to buy an additional chair.<\/p>\n

Each patient’s treatment requires them to be in a chair for 2 hours.  However, only the first 30 minutes of the treatment requires 1-on-1 attention from a nurse.<\/p>\n

You have one full-time nurse who works 40 hours per week, which includes a 1-hour paid lunch.  When this nurse works alone, she can see 7 patients per day (see schedule here<\/a> <\/span><\/span>Download see schedule here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n

You have the option to hire a part-time nurse for either 4 or 6 hours per day, if you can show that this will increase the number of patients seen each day.<\/p>\n
