Request for Proposals (RFP):<\/span> <\/span>Fresno County is home to more than 1,013,400 people<\/span>1<\/span> <\/span>and is in the central<\/span>
San Joaquin Valley. This culturally diverse population has significant health disparities that affect the quality<\/span>
of life in the county. Recently, Fresno County was awarded $10 million as the result of an air and water<\/span>
pollution settlement and was challenged to use these funds to improve population health. There were no specific<\/span>
restrictions on the types of projects that would qualify for Fresno County Settlement Fund. Consideration will<\/span>
be made for program plans that focus on improving the health and well-being of Fresno County residents and<\/span>
particularly those that address the health issues impacting residents, families, and\/or children in the County\u2019s<\/span>
poorest neighborhoods. Awards will be for a maximum of $175,000 each year for a<\/span> <\/span>three<\/span>–<\/span>year<\/span> <\/span>funding period<\/span>
($500,000 maximum for a single agency). Your agency director has charged you with the responsibility to<\/span>
develop of a program proposal to be submitted for this funding. (Incidentally, the director has indicated that<\/span>
your position and salary is contingent upon receiving this award. The Project Director\u2019s salary is $50,000 per<\/span>
year with benefits at 38%. Your agency has negotiated an indirect rate of .15 of MDTC with this funder. The<\/span>
RFP has been announced with<\/span> <\/span>a final deadline of May 13, 2024 (at 5:00 pm).<\/span> <\/span>(Please note as with any RFA,<\/span>
