The final essay is a response to <\/span>A Good Man is Hard to Find<\/span><\/em>.  In the old days this is how argument was most often taught.  Students would read literature and make an argument about some element of the creative work.  This is what I want you to do.  This will involve some opinion you hold about the story.  But you opinion must be backed up by the text itself.<\/p>\n

However, that doesn’t mean no research.  You can provide voices that agree with you, expert voices.  Not peers or non-experts of literature. I want you to find one academic book are article at the library.  Seek journals.  I want 3 sources minimum. <\/p>\n

Now, there are aspect of this story that you might be able to interview some one local.  Not a peer.  But as you read the story, and you see some aspect, ask me about who you might interview for that aspect. <\/p>\n

As before, the essay must be written in third person.  Always.  It must be 1800 words minimum.  It must be in MLA form and MLA documentation.  You need a debatable argumentative thesis.  Nothing has changed from the other essays in terms of what I expect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
