Experiment with writing speculative fiction. Specifically, you will imagine
\na future 20 to 50 years from now in which our ideas about sex, gender, and sexuality have
\nradically changed. (You can decide how these ideas have changed; they just need to be
\ndifferent from today.) You will then create a slideshow about this future \u2013 and about your
\nfuture self. Finally, you will write a brief statement about how the course
\nmaterial informed your slideshow. Your statement must engage at least 3 assigned texts(I will provide the three texts )<\/p>\n

How to construct slideshows:<\/div>\n
Slide 1: Setting the Scene<\/b>= What is the date? Where are you? Describe
\nthe area where you are living. What are the biggest changes that have occurred since 2024?<\/div>\n
Slide 2: The Sex\/Gender\/Sexuality System<\/b>= Your second slide should explain to your current
\nself how ideas about sex, gender, and sexuality have changed. Have people invented new
\ngender or sexual identities? Is there a totally different sex\/gender\/sexuality system?<\/div>\n
Slide 3: The Politics of Reproduction<\/b>= Your third slide should discuss the themes of
\nbiological and\/or social reproduction. How do humans reproduce in the future? Have new
\nscientific and technological developments changed the way people get pregnant and give
\nbirth? Who do people live with, and how do they take care of each other?<\/div>\n
Slide 4: Gender, Labor, & Racial Capitalism<\/b>=. Your fourth slide should discuss the themes of
\nlabor and capitalism. Does capitalism still exist in this future? If so, how have the changes in
\nideas about sex, gender, and sexuality changed the way capitalism functions?<\/div>\n
Slide 5: A Typical Day<\/b>= . Your final slide should describe a typical day for your future self. how the
\nchanges described on the previous slides shape your day-to-day life. You can talk about who
\nyou live with and how you take care of one another.<\/div>\n

 Write a 300-500 word statement on how the
\ncourse material informed your approach to the project and how you feel about the future you
\nhave imagined.  <\/span>Explain how each text helped
\nyou complete speculative fiction exercise.
\nFinally, how do you feel about the future you created? Is this a future you would like to see
\ncome into being? Do you have fears or concerns about the world you imagined? How likely do
\nyou think it is that we\u2019ll see a future like the one you\u2019ve described?<\/span><\/div>\n
