The paper will be between 3 and 4 pages long (double spaced). Analyze how my experience as a woman has influenced my life. I’m focusing on the issue of intamite relationships, specifically about the interracial and lesbian relationships. Cite course reading and can use other materials and cite them too. <\/span>Here’s my background. I am carribbean black and asian and am currently in a relationship with a white girl. We spend a lot of time with her family and I do seem to get treated quite differently in the way that I am sexualized and often told I look “exotic”. Being open about being in a lesbian relationship has made me notice the way people treat me compared to when I was single and people around me weren’t actively aware that I am in the LGBTQ+ community. Men when I was single would treat me as every other girl, and now they seem to be more comfortable with talking to me about emotions, how they feel how someone like theyre crush, ask for advice and see you as almost one of the guys. Some women judge me and look to be less comfortable around me and others support the utmost. My girlfriend has had a completely different experience as a masculine presenting lesbian. She has always been able to have a lot of close guy friends that treat her like “one of the guys” no matter if shes in a relationship or not because of how she presents herself. Some women have a view of her that she might like them and feel some type of way for her and if they are not into women or not single they will still feel super comfortable enough to become friends with her as she is also outgoing. Y<\/span>ou\u2019ll want to keep the paper focused on specific experiences and circumstances, not
\ngeneralities or abstractions. For example, a female identifying student with a brother could
\nelaborate on whether they were ever treated differently as children (e.g., chores, parents\u2019
\neducational expectations for them). You can also elaborate on whether you ever felt you were
\ntreated differently [in your family\/paid workforce\/school] because you were a
\nman\/woman\/other gender. Be sure to provide specific examples of why you felt this way.
\nProviding another example, a heterosexual student can discuss whether their experience of
\nbeing married\/cohabiting\/other arrangement was any different for their partner than
\nthemselves, and then follow up with the specific ways it\u2019s different (e.g., do they do different
\nchores or have different responsibilities for paid and unpaid work? Who makes more of the
\ndecisions? Why is that?)
\nAs you begin to think about organizing and writing your paper, you will need to focus on
\na one or two issues or life domains throughout the paper, such as those discussed in class (e.g.,
\npaid work, intimate relationships, parenthood, education, religion; views or experiences of
\nfeminism). Draw on course readings to illustrate the discussion of these themes. Before you
\nwrite the details of your paper, become familiar with the literature on the issues to be
\ndiscussed. Your paper needs to show the application of research on the topics being
\npresented.
\nThe organization of your paper will be very important to your overall grade on this
\nassignment; the paper should include the following sections (clearly labeled):
\n1. An Introduction to the paper in which you briefly introduce and discuss the issue or life
\ndomains you will focus on (e.g., paid work, intimate relationships, parenthood, education,
\nreligion; views or experiences of feminism).
\n2. Body will form the bulk of the paper. It is critical that you link your data to concepts,
\ntheories, and issues that we\u2019ve been discussing and reading about in class. *Put each concept
\nor theory you use in your paper in bold font the first time you use it (and normal font
\nsubsequent times). You can\u2019t discuss all issues; you\u2019ll need to select the ones that are most
\nclearly related to your topic. Do not simply describe your experience. Students must cite
\ncourse readings to receive credit for this assignment but may also cite other materials.
