when necessary but not subtract from them.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
1: Introduction<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Provide an introduction and background to your topic. Assume the reader has some<\/span>
familiarity with your topic already. This means you can skip basic information and<\/span>
assume the reader knows that. For example, in talking about Nigeria I could skip the fact<\/span>
that Nigeria is in West Africa or is the most populace country on the continent. These are<\/span>
basic features that a reader would know. This section should be approximately 1-1.5<\/span>

2: Literature Review<\/span><\/span><\/span>

review writing day. In short, you should discuss at least 8-10 scholarly, peer-reviewed<\/span>

3: Methodology<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>This section will be relatively simple compared to a standard Political Science research<\/span>
paper. Since many of you have not undergone the \u201cScope and Methods\u201d course yet or<\/span>
other methodology classes, this section will only include the following: (1) your research<\/span>
question; (2) your thesis statement; (3) at least one hypothesis you plan to test in your<\/span>
paper; and (4) descriptions of all variables (e.g., independent, dependent, control,<\/span>
