    So, I really don’t know exactly what to write but I know it would be about Malcolm X as I have always been intrigued with his growth as an activist and his transition from the Black NOI to the more traditional ISLAM.  I mean he went from By Any Means Necessary to Peace and a completely different insight on brotherhood and unity after his trip to Mecca.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    This topic is doable, and I like that there is something of a personal connection to your family history. It could be made a bit more nuanced in at least two ways. He arguably had reason to be attracted to the Nation of Islam given what happened to him as his family. So, despite clear myths the religion told about history, aspects of it rang true to his life experiences. He was also criticized for belonging to what some called a cult-like offshoot of traditional Islam, but on the other hand he might have always been interested in traditional Islam above all else that that is what led him to split with Nation of Islam leadership. Some research could clarify whether it was a stark conversion or just following through with his interest in Islam that was always there, he just had to shed some Nation of Islam aspects over time as he understood the religion better.<\/div>\n
