Purpose: Student will be able to analyze the most important aspects of the characters, setting, and plot of The Raisin in the Sun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A Raisin in the Sun Slide Project<\/span><\/p>\n

Intro Slide<\/strong> (1 slide): A slide decorated thematically as a representation of the play.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part One: Characterization<\/strong><\/p>\n

One slide for each character that explains personality, describe the type of character they are and choose an actor that you could see playing the character that hasn\u2019t previously been cast in that role. Why would the actor be good in the role? (For example, \u201cSo and so would be good as this character because it reminds me of their role in such and such movie because of the way they had to act depressed [or whatever.])\u201d (10 slides) Required characters to include: Ruth Younger, Travis Younger, Walter Lee Younger, Beneatha Younger, Lena Younger (Mama), Joseph Asagai, George Murchison, Mrs. Johnson, Karl Lindner, & Bobo.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Part Two: Setting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create a slide to describe the setting and provide visuals to add to your descriptions. (1 slide)<\/span><\/p>\n

Part Three: Summary of Acts<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create a slide to highlight the most important events that take place in each act of the play and provide images that represent those events. (3 slides)<\/span><\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Create a slide describing the end of the play; Are the characters going to be happy? Will they have more problems in the future? How have things changed or remained the same in our current society? (1 or more slides)<\/span><\/p>\n

Project will include a minimum of 16 slides. All slides must have both written analysis and images to support your analysis. You may not use any visuals that originated in one of the three movie productions of this play.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
