Now that we have an understanding of culture, both generally as well as specifically, we can use this knowledge to compare and contrast our own personally identified culture with that of Deaf culture. <\/p>\n

For this assignment, you will use your previous paper on your culture and your knowledge of Deaf culture to compare and contrast the two. This paper is an academic paper, so should include an introduction, body\/content, and a conclusion<\/p>\n

In the paper, you should have the following:<\/p>\n

  1. Introduction<\/li>\n
  2. Describe both cultures in detail, including\n
      \n
    1. The history of the cultural group<\/li>\n
    2. Contemporary issues experienced by the cultural group<\/li>\n
    3. Your personal connection to the culture<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Identify how the cultures meet the definition of a culture provided in this module<\/li>\n
    5. Describe the aspects of each culture including:\n
        \n
      1. Characteristics<\/li>\n
      2. Traits<\/li>\n
      3. Norms<\/li>\n
      4. Traditions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      5. Compare and contrast your personal culture with Deaf culture including\n
          \n
        1. Shared traits and similarities<\/li>\n
        2. Differences between the two cultures<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        3. Conclusion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Papers should be a minimum of 3 pages in length but no more than 5 content pages (points will be deducted for going under the minimum or exceeding the maximum page count), double-spaced with 1 inch margins using 12pt Times New Roman font.<\/p>\n

          Students should NOT include your name, course, instructor name, heading or anything else (Canvas uploaded the paper under your student profile so I will know who wrote the paper. This will allow you to write 5 full pages.<\/p>\n

          You are required to use external sources in your paper and you MUST<\/em><\/strong> cite them properly, both parenthetically and on a reference page (reference page is not included in the page count). You must use APA style for your citations.<\/p>\n

          External sources should be academically appropriate types of resources. Wikipedia, blogs, YouTube videos, etc, are NOT academic sources and SHOULD NOT<\/em><\/strong> be used in this paper.<\/p>\n

          You need to support your statements. For example, if you say \u201cMy culture values family connections.\u201d you must provide support and evidence for this statement. How does the culture value family connection? How is it demonstrated within the culture? Give an example to support your assertion.<\/p>\n
