\nblockade provides an opportunity to analyze the role of emotions in traumatic
\nsituations. The Qatari society initially displayed a sense of fear and anxiety
\nover the blockade, as the country depended on its road connectivity with Saudi
\nArabia for trade (Gengler, 2021, pp. 24-26). The fears of Qataris were
\njustified, as the blockade created shortages of essential supplies and promoted
\nanxiety towards losing their sovereignty. Thus, the paper would focus on
\nanalyzing emotions such as unease faced by Qataris during the blockade. Also,
\nthe paper will explore the outcomes of Qatari resilience, as the government
\nrejected all demands on its neighbors and imported essential goods from other
\nnations via sea and air routes. Qatar’s financial stability and geopolitical
\nimportance were critical in its strength, but strong leadership shown by the
\ngovernment led to the germination of patriotic ideas within the society. Therefore,
\nmonetary and external buffers allowed Qatar to withstand all threats during the
\nSaudi-led siege (Selmi & Bouoiyour, 2020, p. 100).<\/span><\/strong> <\/b>Qataris
\nfelt protected by their regime and witnessed a growth in trust and allegiance
\nwith their leader.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nargument of the paper would be to explore the role of the Qatar blockade in
\ndifferent emotions experienced by Qatari society. The paper will highlight that
\nthe blockade challenged the moral norms of international relations and forced
\nQataris to question their sovereignty. However, the decisions of their
\nleadership and the financial strength of their nation transformed the emotions
\nof fear and anxiety into pride. Witnessing a strong leadership at the helm
\nbuilt admiration for the ruling family, especially as they cared for their
\ncitizens\u2019 needs and countered aggression through shrewd diplomacy. The
\nreshaping of the emotional responses was secured with courageous leadership
\ndecisions and delivering to the needs of their people. Thus, the paper will explore
\nthe strategic mobilization of national unity and support for the ruling regime.
\nThe research will employ a literature review to identify similar scenarios in
\nwhich people\u2019s collective emotions impact their patriotism and loyalty to the
\nruling regime.<\/span><\/p>\n
