Instrument is the generic term researchers use for measurement devices (surveys, tests, questionnaires, etc.). To help distinguish between instrument and instrumentation, consider that
the instrument is the device and instrumentation is the course of action (the process of developing, testing, and using the device).<\/span><\/p>\n

Instruments fall into two broad categories: researcher-completed and subject-completed. The former is distinguished by those that researchers administer versus those that participants complete.       who will collect the data, and during what time. How will the data be managed and protected? Communicate how the procedure for data collection is done.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n
