When I say <\/span>cultural issue of global concern<\/em>, this means the issue could be a cultural issue within the United States that has ramifications in other countries, but ideally, you will identify a unique issue outside of the United States borders, one that you were not familiar with prior to your research, that has ramifications in other countries. The issue you choose should <\/span>not<\/span> <\/span>be an issue largely isolated within the United States. (Please re-read and ponder what I am asking here before jumping to a topic. Think about it.)<\/span><\/div>\n

A well-balanced variety of properly documented research sources are to be used. Compose your paper following the 7th<\/sup> <\/span>edition of APA format. Cite a minimum of <\/span>fifteen <\/span><\/b>authoritative <\/span><\/em>sources are required <\/span><\/span>scholarly articles<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>at least 10 of which cannot have been published prior to 2018.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

  • Why is this important? For us, U.S. citizens, as well as foreign countries and its citizens?<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n
  • How will\/did the ramifications of this issue affect the global community? You should devote ample time to this question.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n
  • How is this event relevant to topics covered in this course? Connect the issue to the textbook and illustrate your ability to synthesize course material with global issues.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Our world is changing rapidly. Virtually any day on the news, stories will illustrate changes in the global community. Some of these stories may be positive, such as laws and regulations to reduce global warming, or resolution of past issues, such as with our relationship with Cuba. Other stories may have an adverse impact on the global community. One simply needs to examine the relationship between North Korea and the remainder of the world (China excluded) to see how one nation\u2019s actions is cause for alarm.<\/span><\/div>\n

    Living in the United States, we may not be cognizant of the diversity of cultures in surrounding countries. Recognizing other countries\u2019 cultures will make us literate global citizens. To help propel us in that direction, I am asking each of you to conduct in-depth research on a cultural issue at the global level (not just locally or nationally).<\/span><\/div>\n
