Assignment: Book Review<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The purpose of this assignment is to gain experience and perspective on an area or topic that addresses the atypical development of children or adolescents from a primary source of literature. Choose a volume of interest to you. Read and articulate the content of the book. Include a critique that offers your own reaction to the content presented and reflect on it by referring to information presented in our text or from another source.<\/span><\/p>\n

Write a brief 4-5 page type-written paper based on the content of the book you have read and your own reflections, observations, and\/or experiences. In your review, describe your reaction to the key aspects of the book. Include references to material presented in the Mash and Wolfe text or from other sources we have referenced. The style conventions of the APA Style Manual 7th Edition should be used.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guidelines for the Book Review:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Choose a book from the list provided. If you would prefer to use a book other than one listed, discuss it with me. Write a paper based on your reading of the book. Structure your paper to include the following three sections:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

1)-a summary of the book and its content. Your summary should include important descriptive information such as the main topic and\/or character. Include information about the age of the persons described and the type or nature of the issues presented. Information about the context (e.g., social, environmental, or cultural) should be included.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

2)-a section on your reaction or evaluation of the book\u2019s material and\/or viewpoint. Your comments should reflect your thoughts, observations, and\/or experiences to date. What does the book tell you about the process of development?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

3)-a section that relates the information you have gathered with that acquired previously from the Mash and Wolfe text, or from other sources we have presented. Provide specific citations, including page numbers. How does the information you have learned compare with the information provided in the book?<\/span><\/p>\n

Paper format: Requirements for your book review are:<\/span><\/p>\n

-Conforms to APA Style as described in the APA Publication Manual (7th ed.)<\/span><\/p>\n

-Double-spaced, with a 12-point type, 1″ margins top and bottom with 1″ margins left and right for a fixed font (e.g., Courier) or 1.5″ margins left and right for a proportional font (e.g., Times Roman)<\/span><\/p>\n

-A title page that contains your name, the course and the date.<\/span><\/p>\n

-A body of 4-5 pages in length. There should be at least one reference to Mash and Wolfe with page numbers, e.g., Mash & Wolfe, 2019, pp. xxx-xxx).<\/span><\/p>\n

-A reference section listing the book title, Mash and Wolfe, and other references used.<\/span><\/p>\n
