\ndrug discovery and treatment, costs have overrun for 5 consecutive years, the
\ntransmission of viruses in the hospital setting has led to an alarming increase
\nin patient infections. This further erodes trust in the hospital’s safety
\nprotocols and standards of care as well as extensive queues for treatments,
\nwith some patients facing up to a two-year wait before undergoing necessary
\nprocedures. The Board Director, Dr. Moira Flynn has sought to implement reforms
\nto the hospital in response to its various problems. <\/span><\/p>\n

Breakdown of
\nproblems<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\nthere are higher rates of chronic illnesses and complex health needs, leading
\nto increased demands on services, longer hospital stays, and the need for more
\nspecialized treatments, all of which escalate healthcare expenditures.
\nFurthermore, the hospital\u2019s expenses have risen due to outdated equipment
\nneeding frequent repairs, higher staff salaries due to inflation, and
\ninefficiencies in patient management. Additionally, expensive lawsuits and
\nwasted resources further placed pressure on the hospital\u2019s budget. Due to these
\nstrained budgets, the hospital has had to be highly selective in its admission
\nrates for patients, prioritizing certain patients and turning away many in need
\nof care. The waiting lists for surgeries are on average longer than it was 3
\nyears ago, which the hospital seeks to improve. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn the 1990s, St. John\u2019s Hospital possessed a leading research unit that was
\nresponsible for major breakthroughs in revolutionary drug treatments. However,
\nin the subsequent decades, their prominence waned, with the hospital’s research
\nno longer being featured in top medical journals nor producing any notable new
\ndrug innovations, leaving it lagging behind its peers in the medical research
\ncommunity. This has impacted the profile of the Hospital as a place of
\npioneering medical advancement, causing many top-tier researchers and
\nclinicians to seek opportunities elsewhere. This

\nalso accompanied by personalized recommendations\u2014whether suggesting a short
\nwalk, deep-breathing exercises, or hydration reminders. Over time, the device
\nadapted, learning from the user\u2019s behavior, preferences, and feedback, ensuring
\nthat the recommendations were not only rooted in science but also tailored to
\nthe individual’s unique health journey. Dr. Moira Flynn and her team believed
\nthat this initiative would not only improve patient outcomes but also empower
\nthem to take charge of their own health, bridging the gap between hospital care
\nand personal well-being. As part of the commercial contract, this wearable
\ndevice collected real-time health data on patients, and this data was gathered
